The flavor was first introduced in Aug. 2022 and has since returned to menus across the country as of Jan. 1, 2023, thanks to Dairy Queen’s rotating Flavor of the Month. The Reese’s Take 5 Blizzard offers “five levels of flavor play,” the brand even goes so far as to call it “a sweet win for adventure seekers.” Along with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, the frozen dessert is swirled with “sweet-tooth loot,” which reportedly includes peanuts, a caramel topping, and pretzel pieces that are then blended with the company’s world-famous vanilla soft serve ice cream–satisfying both salty and sweet cravings. Dairy Queen previously hinted at the possible return of the candy-filled concoction on Instagram just days before New Year’s Eve. “Layer on the flavor with Reese’s® Peanut Butter Cups, sweet caramel, salty peanuts, and crunchy pretzels!” the caption teased, “Our soft serve adventure has arrived: The Reese’s® Take 5 BLIZZARD Treat.” The news was met with a warm welcome from overjoyed fans, commenting the likes of “You had me at Reese’s 😍😍😍😍😍,” and “OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!” The returning treat joins six other Candy Classic Blizzards–including the Oreo Cookie Blizzard Treat, the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard, the Butterfinger Blizzard Treat, the M&Ms Milk Chocolate Candies Blizzard, the Heath Blizzard, and the Snickers Blizzard Treat–as well as five other frozen desserts here for only the season: the Frosted Sugar Cookie Blizzard, the Candy Cane Chill Blizzard, the Oreo Hot Cocoa Blizzard, the Snickers Brown Blizzard Treat, and the Very Cherry Chip Blizzard.
