The Muslim holiday Eid al-Adha is also in July. The holiday honors the willingness of the prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah’s command. The date varies from year to year, but Eid al-Adha begins in the evening on July 9, 2022, and ends in the evening on July 10, 2022.
Is July 4 a national holiday in the United States?
Yes, July 4 has been designated as a federal holiday in the United States. That means that non-essential federal government offices are closed for the day (as are most public companies!). There are also several other holidays on July 4. Those are National Country Music Day, Sidewalk Egg Frying Day, and National Barbecued Spare Ribs Day.

Is July 13, 2022, a full moon?
Yep! The “Super Buck Moon” will occur on July 13, 2022. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, the full moon that we see in July is called the Buck Moon because the antlers of male deer (aka bucks) reach their peak growth this time of the year. Bucks shed and regrow their antlers each year, regrowing a larger set with each passing year. In 2022, the July Buck Moon also happens to be the biggest full moon of the year, called a supermoon. This has to do with the egg-shaped orbit that the moon makes around Earth, and how one moon per year is closest to Earth than any other. In 2022, that will happen in the month of July, making this month’s Buck Moon a supermoon. The July full moon is also known as the Thunder Moon because thunderstorms are so prevalent during the month of July.
