Former Bachelor Matt James sent fans into a bit of a frenzy with his recent Instagram video. The clip—part of an ad collaboration with Nissan—finds James hopping into a silver Altima to run errands, grab coffee, play tennis, and pick up his girl for date night. Nothing out of the ordinary, right? Wrong. One moment stuck out to fans as they believe it may be a subtle hit that he’s going to be a father! In the final moment of the IG commercial, James can be seen loading a baby seat into the car. “I count on my Nissan Altima to get me where I need to go, so that when this day comes — that’s right, it’s coming — we’ll have enough room for the entire basketball team,” he states, flashing a grin at the camera. Although the comment could be interpreted as an attempt to show that the car is family friendly—and that James can’t wait to have kids in the future—some fans immediately assumed that James was announcing Rachael Kirkconnell’s pregnancy. While neither James nor Kirkconnell have commented on the rumors and speculation, well wishes began pouring in via the comment section. “I THINK THIS MAN JUST ANNOUNCED A PREGNANCY,” one fan quipped. Another added: “Did you just low key announce a baby is on the way?” A third fan took issue with how James strapped in the baby seat, noting that for safety purposes, the seat needs to be “rear facing.” Yet another eagle-eyed viewer pointed out that while no actual baby announcement has been made, the couple dropped “several baby hints the past few days.” A recent photo from the couple’s vacation to Disney was captioned “family trip,” though it was likely because Kirkconnell’s family was with them. There’s also Kirkconnell’s eyebrow-raising comments to Us Weekly on July 15: “The only timeline I give him is I was like, ‘I gotta have kids before, you know, I can’t have kids.’ So keep that in mind.” I guess we’ll have to wait and see if if the couple graces our social media timelines with an official pregnancy announcement in the days/weeks to come.
