Although the show’s real-life stars may not have wiped out mid-routine during an open casting call (as one of TheBig Leap’s characters does in the premiere episode), everyone in the cast—Piper Perabo, Scott Foley, Simone Recasner, Jon Rudnitsky, Teri Polo, Kevin Daniels, Ser’Darius Blain and more—knows what it’s like to bomb an audition big-time. “To this day, I mean, I can recall it in a second,” Foley tells Parade.com about the worst audition he’s ever weathered. “It’s at the top of my head. It was embarrassing and terrible.” While doors have closed for The Big Leap stars in the past, new ones have since opened, and now the actors are starring in a show about second chances. As Recasner’s lead character, Gabby, says in the pilot, “Life is about coming back from a punch. You gotta keep getting up no matter how many times you get kicked in the teeth”…amen!
