“It is after 30 years, five amazing children and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts,” a representative for the Cyrus family told PEOPLE in a statement. “We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths.” The statement continued, “We will always be family and look forward to a continued and loving shared experience as friends and parents. We have not come to this decision lightly or quickly but with so much going on in the world, we wanted to provide some clarity and closure, so we can remain focused on what is important. With Love and Hope… Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus.” The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer, 60, previously filed for divorce from Tish in 2010 and blamed the Disney machine for the split in an explosive interview with GQ in February 2011. However, the couple reconciled and called off the dissolution of their marriage, and Billy Ray walked back his comments about the House of Mouse as well. At the time, he said on The View (via PEOPLE), “I’ve dropped the divorce. I want to put my family back together. Things are the best they’ve ever been.” n 2013, Tish, 54, filed for divorce from Billy Ray, but eventually reconciled and withdrew their filings; Billy Ray credited marriage counseling for keeping their marriage going. “We both woke up and realized we love each other and decided we want to stay together,” the then-couple told PEOPLE in a statement in 2013. “We both went into couples therapy something we haven’t done in 22 years of being together, and it’s brought us closer together and really opened up our communication in amazing ways.” Tish indicated in her latest divorce filing, obtained by TMZ, that she and Billy Ray hadn’t cohabited in two years. She listed “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The couple tied the knot in 1993. Tish and Billy Ray share three children: The mega-famous Miley, 29, singer Noah, 22, and son 27-year-old son Braison. Billy Ray also adopted Tish’s two biological children from her previous marriage, rocker Trace Cyrus, 33, and daughter Brandi Cyrus, 34. Billy Ray previously told Parade, “We’ve always had a slogan in our family: ‘If you ain’t happy, it ain’t working.’” Here’s hoping they all find happiness in their new family life—whatever that may look like.
